We want to do everything in our power to ensure your puppy is in top health. In addition to providing first shots, deworming and a veterinary check prior to sending your new puppy home with you, we also offer comprehensive advice on how to care for your puppy. While we never want your family to experience the anguish of losing a furry friend to disease or illness, we cannot be held responsible for illness or injury incurred due to negligence or poor care once the puppy has left our home.

Our guarantee applies to illnesses that are covered in our puppies’ first immunizations and any life threatening genetic diseases. While we’re certain that a dog-lover like yourself would never intentionally harm a puppy, we must advise that our guarantee will be considered void if the dog has been found to be malnourished, abused, or otherwise neglected/harmed by its owners.

In the unfortunate event that your puppy falls ill with a disease that is covered by the Paradise Guarantee, we want to minimize your family’s heartache. We simply require a copy of all necessary paperwork along with a statement in writing from a licensed veterinarian that clearly identifies the diagnosis and we’ll issue you a full refund. **conditions apply, see full guarantee below.

2 Year Health Guarantee

The health and wellbeing of your new pup is our top priority. We guarantee your puppy is going home in good health and free of any obvious diseases or defects, unless specified by us.

Your Paradise Puppy is also covered by our 2 Year Health Guarantee. If your puppy falls ill with a potentially fatal genetic or hereditary disease within 24 months of the purchase date, we will provide you a full refund.

Our strict health check policy guarantees your puppy is examined by a certified veterinarian for any health concerns and receives their first set of vaccinations and deworming before you take them home.

Your pup is guaranteed to be protected against Canine Distemper, Parvo virus, Parainfluenza, Adenovirus Type 2, and Canine Hepatitis at the time of purchase.

Your Obligations

You must bring your puppy to a licensed veterinarian within 3 days of the purchase date for a health examination.

If the puppy is found to be suffering from a health condition and is therefore deemed to be unfit for sale by your veterinarian, the puppy shall be returned* to us and we will provide a full refund equal to the purchase price. You must notify us within 48 hours, and a written letter from your vet with the complete diagnosis must be sent to us. We reserve the right to have the diagnosis verified by another veterinarian of our choice.

You must follow up with the second and third round of vaccinations, as well as the rabies shot at around 4 months of age to ensure the health of your pup after purchase. It is highly recommended to continue regularly visiting the vet afterwards for health checks and yearly inoculations.

Overpopulation is a problem. These puppies are meant to be companions, not to be bred. You must spay/neuter your puppy before 8 months of age.

Do not over-feed. You must only feed your puppy the recommended amount as stated by your vet, and make sure they maintain a healthy body weight with adequate exercise. Any signs of malnourishment or over-feeding will terminate this Health Guarantee.

* If the condition is highly contagious and puts in jeopardy the life or wellbeing of our other puppies, we will not be able to accept the return of the affected pup. The refund will still be issued in full.

** Failure to fulfill any of the aforementioned obligations will terminate this Health Guarantee and render it null and void **

Terms and Conditions

If within 24 months from the date of sale the puppy is found to have a life threatening genetic or hereditary health condition, or a disease covered by our first immunizations, we will provide a full refund. Paradise Puppies must be notified and provided all necessary documents within 5 days of the original diagnosis performed by a qualified doctor of veterinary medicine. We reserve the right to a second opinion from a veterinarian of our choice.

If your puppy is deceased and you are requesting a refund, you must perform a necropsy at your expense to determine the cause of death. A full refund will be issued if the cause of death is derived from a genetic or hereditary health condition or from a disease covered by our first immunizations.

You assume all responsibility for veterinary costs associated with the puppy after purchase has been made.

Under no circumstance will Paradise Puppies cover transportation costs once a puppy has been rehomed.

Not Covered: elbow/hip dysplasia, over/under bites, patella issues, hernias, trachea issues, undescended testes, injuries, allergies, heat exhaustion, parasites, hypoglycemia, separation anxiety, stress colitis, dietary indiscretion.

Injuries or complications caused by physical accidents, or unknowingly consuming a foreign object are not covered by this Health Guarantee.

Temperament issues are not covered as various factors beyond our control such as lack of training, lack of proper socialization, living circumstances etc. determine temperament.

Stress colitis is the leading cause of diarrhea in all puppies and is very common especially after being moved to a new home. Adjusting to life without their siblings and the new environment they’re unfamiliar with can cause stress colitis (diarrhea, sometimes bloody or with mucus). Symptoms are temporary; however, it’s always recommended to visit the vet if the symptoms persist. Stress colitis is not covered by this Health Guarantee.

Every puppy up until the time of sale has grown up surrounded by their siblings and other pups/dogs. No puppy wants to be alone and you understand that if left alone, the pup may show signs of separation anxiety (crying, whining, barking). Having other friendly pets/dogs in the household helps them to adjust. You must take this into consideration before buying a puppy, as separation anxiety is not covered by this Health Guarantee.

Only purchase a Paradise Puppy if you are fully committed and ready for the responsibilities that come with the addition of your new furry little friend. Do your research. If your puppy does not have a health concern or disease, but you have found that you cannot keep him/her any longer for another reason, you must return the puppy to us in exchange for 75% of the purchase price. This must be done within 7 days of the date of sale.

Our mission is to provide puppies in Eastern Canada with perfect, loving homes for life. Re-selling of our pups at any time after the purchase date will void this Health Guarantee.

For purposes of this Health Guarantee, the value of the puppy is limited to the purchase price and does not include any additional costs.

Allergy Warning

If you are purchasing a hypoallergenic puppy, please keep in mind that most of our pups play together at random times during the week. It is likely that any of our hypoallergenic puppies have come in contact with another canine friend that is not. Therefore, if you are bringing home one of our hypoallergenic puppies and you or one of your close family members have a very sensitive allergy to dogs or puppies that aren’t, we highly recommend giving your pup a bath before introducing them to him/her. Wash the puppy’s coat thoroughly with puppy shampoo, being very careful not to get water in their ears/nose or soap in their eyes.

If you or anyone in your family is allergic to dogs, you must take this into consideration before buying one of our puppies. If you’re unsure and worried that your pup will cause you or any of your immediate family members to suffer an allergic reaction upon bringing them home, we completely understand. Let us know of your allergy concerns, and we would be happy to set up a play session between you and the puppy for however long is necessary in our home.

Under no circumstance can we be held responsible for any allergic reaction caused to you or anyone in your family by one of our pups after the purchase has been made. The purchase of a Paradise Puppy is considered Final Sale immediately after the puppy is paid for by you. Refunds are never available for any allergy related incidents. You must do your due diligence before purchasing a puppy.
